The Fandom Menace
It has been rumored and debunked for ages that Kathleen Kenndy is getting fired and stepping down. The Fandom Menace usually spreads this information because it’s no secret they hate her. Other not-so-reliable articles have also spread this information and you tubers with clickbait titles and photos. However, a new Deadline Article might debunk these rumors that resurfaced again.
Kathleen Kennedy Spoke about these rumors
Kenndey spoke with Deadline about these rumors and stated, “The truth is, and I want to just say loud and clear, I am not retiring. I will never retire from movies. I will die making movies. That is the first thing that’s important to say. I am not retiring. What’s happening at Lucasfilm is I have been talking for quite some time with both Bob and Alan about what eventual succession might look like. We have an amazing bench of people here, and we intend to make an announcement months or a year down the road. We are in lockstep as to what that’s going to be, and I am continuing. I’m producing Mandalorian the movie right now, and I’m also producing Sean Levy’s movie, which is after that. So I’m continuing to stay at Lucasfilm and looking very thoughtfully with Bob and Alan as to who’s stepping in. So that is all underway, and we have every right to make that announcement when we want to make it.”
So, if Kathleen Kennedy is not retiring, what does the future look like?
It doesn’t look good, and it's concerning for those who genuinely enjoy Disney's portrayal of Star Wars and support Kathleen Kennedy's leadership. The negativity surrounding this situation persists and may even worsen. For instance, if you appreciate the Disney era, you might be labeled as a "shill" or accused of being paid by Disney. This narrative often arises from the fandom menace.
However, it appears that Kathleen Kennedy will be stepping down from her role as head of Lucasfilm in the near future, and when she does, it will be on her own terms. Disney leadership is handling this transition carefully. Kennedy will still play a significant role in future Star Wars productions, ensuring that her influence remains in the franchise for now.
