Daisy Ridley's new Star Wars movie highlights the biggest issues once again.

I have said this before, and I'll say it again: it's not hard to find Star Wars fans who harbor a deep hate for Star Wars, particularly the Disney era. At the same time, there are fans who enjoy Disney Star Wars, appreciate Rey, and eagerly await Daisy Ridley's latest project. However, one segment of the fandom is Gatekeeping, and they wish for Daisy Ridley’s newest Star Wars movie not to exist. This group (The Fandom Menace) tends to be bitter and toxic no matter what comes out.
For those unfamiliar, gatekeeping in fandom refers to attempts to control fan activities, limit access to certain information, or dictate who is or isn’t considered a "real" fan of a particular franchise.
The comments from some of these fans illustrate the issues discussed in this article. While there are other concerns, such as Disney's spending. We shouldn't overlook the bitterness displayed by certain fans. Here’s what some of them have said about Ridley’s new Star Wars movie: “It’s cute you think any Star Wars fan wants to see Rey again.” “Nobody wants another Star Wars movie with Rey.” “I seriously cannot think of something I’m less excited for. Can’t wait to see how hard it flops.”
These fans are extremely bitter and toxic, and this is not solely a Disney issue; it never has been, regardless of their beliefs. The negativity and toxicity surrounding Star Wars have existed for a long time, dating back to the Prequels, but it worsened significantly after Disney acquired the franchise. Many fans, myself included, are tired of this negativity. Honestly, it's embarrassing to be a Star Wars fan, and not because of Disney Star Wars.
These fans must remember that other fans like Rey and what Disney has done. Also, there are children who like Rey. For them, Rey is their Luke Skywalker, and these movies and TV shows are for the next generation of fans. lastly, they could just move on from Star Wars if they feel this way and find something that makes them happy.
Now, I am not saying You have to like everything Disney puts out or announces; I sure don’t like, for example, Star Wars Visions, not because of the writing but because it just doesn’t appeal to me, but I am not going to be bitter and toxic. I am going to let other fans enjoy it. I will move on and wait for something I am excited about, like, for example, The Acolyte when it was announced and was airing. So, let’s not be bitter and toxic when these things get announced or put out. Star Wars will continue It always has, and people will enjoy the Disney Era and Star Wars.
