The Acolyte has faced significant backlash from the toxic side of the Star Wars fandom, with some individuals attacking both the cast and the show's fans. However, there is some positive news: The Acolyte recently won the NAACP Image Award for Best Outstanding Original Score for Television/Motion Picture, and there have been other encouraging developments as well. Some news outlets, such as those at Entertainment, have included The Acolyte on their lists of cancellations that hurt the most.
It's worth noting that the prequels and George Lucas were also widely criticized/ disliked. However, over the years, fans come to love them and appreciate them. Also, if you don’t live under a rock and are not trapped in your own reality bubble, you know that a similar situation is unfolding now with Disney.
This includes backlash against Kathleen Kennedy and Disney as a whole. A loud group of fans (The Fandom Menace) also doesn’t like people like Kathleen Kenndy. Rian Johnson and Lesley Headland, and I bet it will happen again at some point in the future as the list keeps getting longer for disliking people who work on Star Wars.
So perhaps The Acolyte is not as bad as some claim, and history repeats itself. To conclude, I think The Acolyte winning The NAACP Image Award for Best Outstanding Original Score for Television/Motion Picture challenges those who hate The Acolyte and maybe were wrong about it. However, they can still hate it into oblivion if they choose to.
